Trusting the IT Company is Half the Battle

Trusting the IT Company is Half the Battle

Finding the right IT company to meet all your business needs to a difficult task. You want the right location, the right price, the right customer service, the right representation. There are a lot of companies out there, some better than others. But the most important thing you want, is to be able to trust that the company you hired will do the work right and not cheat you.

Property management customers were not so lucky recently in California. Last week Carlsbad police began investigating a property management company of taking money from customers. Carousel Properties, owned by Kelley Zaun, is being accused of taking money from tenants in various properties but not then giving it to the owners of the properties. One person accused Carousel Properties of stealing over $8,000.

There are bad businesses out there. So how can you tell which companies are the bad ones and which ones are the best ones? By doing a little bit of research beforehand, you can save a lot of hassle in the long run.

Do Your Research on the IT Company

One of the most basic and first things you should do when considering hiring any company is to type their name into the search feature on a web browser like Google. Look for any news articles that might reveal a negative side of the company. Read the reviews. Reviews, especially if a company has a large sample to read from, show customer and client experiences with the company. Look for any issues that seem to pop up in more than one commentary.

Go to the company website and read around. Check out the company’s information that explains their goals and functions as a company. Check out their contact us page to see how accessible they are to clients. If professionalism is a trait you are looking for, and it probably should be, make sure their website is professional in its writing and images. Another key factor is how many credible partners they have. If they have partners and clients listed, look for anyone who has similar interests and needs to your own as an indicator of quality services that you need and they can provide.

Read the Fine Print and Ask Questions

Talk to a representative of the company about what your needs are and make sure they can answer all of your questions. If possible, visit the company and see for yourself how things are run. Ask for examples of what they are doing for other businesses so you can see how well they meets the needs of others. And do not hesitate to talk to other businesses that are using their services to see what they say too.

Before you close any deals, be sure to read the fine print. Read through private policies, disclosure and disclaimers, terms and agreements, and especially the contract of services. Know what you want and what you are getting.

All in all, there are a lot of companies, and there is a fair share of IT service companies. Make sure you know what needs your business has and make sure that you go with someone who can meet your needs, keep you up to date on the latest technology offerings, and help to secure what you want secured.
